Coming Soon…

I’m feeling the full gamut of emotions as I share this announcement. Much of the past year has been spent diligently working toward this goal, and it’s finally here…

Sifted: Diary of a Grieving Mother will be released in less than a month.

After Sarah died, Scott and I were both desperate for stories of parents surviving the loss of their children. We were deeply encouraged and comforted by other parents ahead of us on this path sharing their stories with us.

There are many great books available on grief and child loss specifically. So much so that I initially resisted the idea of sharing mine, thinking it redundant or inconsequential amid so many wonderful resources. But the Lord changed my heart and mind.

“Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 [NASB95]

God’s Word says we are graciously comforted in all our afflictions so that we can comfort those in any affliction with the comfort He has given us. His comfort has been so indescribably rich and abundant in the depths of the dark valley of Sarah’s death. His Word convicts me the comfort we have received is not ours alone, it is to be shared with others for their comfort and His glory. Just as those precious parents before us shared the comfort they had received with us, I, in turn, now humbly share the comfort we have received.

May He be glorified and others be comforted through the sharing of His precious sustaining comfort, provision, grace, and faithfulness.

The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble; And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You. Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; Declare among the peoples His deeds. Psalm 9:9-11 [NASB95]

  1. Karen, thank you for doing this. I can’t imagine how hard it was to put it together. I have several friends who can benefit through their losses. Your blog has given me better insight in how to be a friend to those hurting. Many crowns to you. I know you cannot wait to lay them at Jesus feet, good and faithful servant. For His Glory! Amen!

  2. So incredibly proud of you, Karen! What a steadfast example of obedience and Godliness you and Scott are to others struggling with similar loss. You are in my prayers. ❤️
