June 8th will mark six years since the Mount Zion Baptist Church bus crash and Sarah’s death.
Mount Zion Baptist Church hosts an annual Serve Day on the first Saturday of June as a way of remembering God’s faithfulness even on June 8, 2017; a day of great distress and suffering for many, and tragedy through the death of our sweet Sarah.
This year’s Serve Day is Saturday, June 3rd.
Scott and I are excited to be co-leading a Serve Day Team with Tanner and Haley Bell. Tanner and Haley were on the bus when it crashed and they share our passion for seeing God glorified through our shared testimonies of His faithfulness and provision in the midst of the resulting suffering, sorrow and distress.
Weather permitting, our team will be distributing free water bottles in a local park and prayerfully seeking opportunities to share the Hope of Jesus Christ with anyone willing to listen. We will have the flyers below available as easy gospel conversation starters.
We hope you will pray about joining our team to go out and share together June 3rd. For more information comment below, message us personally or register through the church website here.
Even if you can’t join us in person at the park, Scott and I are challenging everyone we know to share the Hope of Christ with at least one person wherever you are that day.
Feel free to print out the flyers and use them and our personal challenge as an easy way to start a gospel conversation with someone.
We’re praying at least one life will be eternally changed that day. Perhaps your one will be the one.

That’s a very special way to remember Sarah and glorify her Saviour ❤️
Snake skin boots and a 1964 Ford F-100 teal green pickup truck. That was my apparel on my first date with Karen. She is a fantastic person; A hallmark in my life. And I’m proud to have known her. She is “Salt of the Earth”.
What a pleasure and a blessing it was meeting you in Botswana.
Thanks for the love Karen, Scott and Team.
Bomo, it was such a blessing to get to know you. I can not wait to see what all God does to care for grieving parents through you and others in the days ahead. We are praying for an open door to return next year, Lord willing we will see you again then!
